Day 1: Friday
We pick up from our city pick up points 8:15-8:45am before heading out of Cape Town and following the beautiful coastal drive to Hermanus. We will stop at one of the many beaches en route for our first surf lesson where you will learn the basics of surfing. We will enjoy lunch in Hermanus before continuing our journey through the canola fields to our lodging in the seaside village of Arniston. That evening we enjoy a delicious home cooked dinner together.
Day 2: Saturday
After breakfast, we grab our boards and stroll down to the beach for the second surf lesson. During this lesson you will consolidate the skills you have learnt on day 1 and should feel far more comfortable in the surf. After a wholesome lunch, we then head off along dusty back roads to the Southernmost Tip of Africa (the official meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans) and nearby shipwreck which offers some great photo opportunities. We then return to our lodging via local farm roads where there is the opportunity to spot some ostriches and zebra along with some amazing bird life. Upon arrival at our accommodation, we grab our sand boards and head for the nearby sand dunes to ‘surf’ the sand whilst watching the sunset. That evening we share our stories around the fire and enjoy a South African braai (barbeque).
Day 3: Sunday
After a quick breakfast we walk down for the third surf lesson where you'll learn how to make directional changes on your board. We will then take a nature hike along the dunes to an impressive sea cave for which the area is famous. During the Summer months there is an opportunity to swim in the many rock pools en route. After lunch, we will then head back to the city via Sir Lowry’s Pass offering sweeping views across the Cape Town metropolitan area. We will be back in Cape Town by early evening to drop off at our city pick up points.
Please note: The order of itinerary may be altered to suit prevailing surf conditions inorder to ensure you have the best surf camp experience possible.
